Predictive Maintenance
Forming a part of the process engineering maintenance and monitoring program, predictive maintenance uses data analysis from measurement devices to find the changes and altering patterns from baseline measurements.
Regular data analysis and pattern monitoring can help with condition monitoring systems to find changes in regular running operations. Using either regular measurements or constant fixed systems the collected data can be assessed for changes which may be causing a machine to operate incorrectly or fail completely.
Using predictive maintenance can help reduce running costs for machinery and give an indication of problems which can be fixed at a suitable time rather than waiting for failure and extended downtime.
Predictive maintenance enables operators and service personnel the chance to schedule maintenance of machinery at a time which is suitable and cost-effective.
Vibration, temperature or oil analysis can be used to create data from equipment. This data can be stored and analysed regularly or, in some cases, a computer can track data and warn of any changes within and operating system.
