Condition Monitoring

Condition monitoring is a process of monitoring the working state of machinery and tools. Analysis of machinery using modern measurement devices, such as a vibration meter, can help to detect changes in operation and highlight faults. Using either scheduled monitoring or constant monitoring will show deviations from standard working conditions and predicting a potential problem in machinery will become far more cost effective than waiting for a machine to fail and need repairing.

Condition monitoring can be used for a number of different predictive maintenance uses:

  • Improve equipment reliability with effective prediction of failure
  • Minimise downtime of equipment with scheduled maintenance and repairs
  • Maximising the lifetime of equipment and parts
  • Maximise equipment performance
  • Minimising costs from machine failure

Condition monitoring can predict equipment failure and the benefits are significant in reducing down time for machinery saving both time and costly repairs.
